Using The Everest Poker Training Room To Learn Poker
Everest Poker offers an exclusive online poker training room to its players. We feel it's the best way to help newcomers to the game become familiar with the rules of multi-player Texas holdem poker. It's fun, easy, and doesn't have any of the pressure of playing poker with real people. You'll learn the game by playing against our poker training robots. This means you can take time to learn poker game controls and how Texas Holdem flows. You can use our online Poker training room as often as you wish to learn poker.

Getting to the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room is easy. Simply click on the Texas Holdem Training Room button in the Everest Poker software Lobby and select which type of poker bet limits you wish to apply to the training session. It's recommended that you begin to learn poker with Limit Play because it offers fewer betting choices and allows you to learn poker's flow much more easily.
Limit poker play means raises are limited to the minimum bet amount, and 1/2 stakes means that minimum bets are 1 poker chip in the first two rounds of poker game play and 2 poker chips in the third and fourth rounds.
Pot Limit poker play allows players to raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the total that is currently in the pot. 2/2 stakes means that minimum bets are 2 poker chips in the first two rounds and 2 poker chips in the third and fourth rounds of holdem poker play.
In holdem poker, No Limit play means that the player can raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the amount of poker chips they have at the table. 3/3 stakes means minimum bets are 3 poker chips in the first two rounds of poker game play and three chips in the third and fourth rounds.
After selecting which Limit system you wish to use during your poker training session, click OK. The Online Poker Training Room will open with a dialog box asking you how many poker chips you wish to bring to the table. The poker software shows the minimum number of chips needed to sit in on the game and the maximum number that you can bring to the poker training table. Since this is Free Play Poker, you may just click OK to sit with the maximum. You then will be seated with the poker table in the foreground. A moment later, Mallory, Hillary, and Norgay (our poker training robots) will join the table and take their seats. After you and the robots are seated, poker play will start.
From this point, poker players learn poker by doing. Action buttons for poker play will appear in the centre control panel when it's your turn to make a decision in the game. Don't be afraid to click the wrong thing; after a few hands of poker, you're sure to get the hang of it and start mastering the flow of holdem poker play.
Here are some tips for online poker training with the Everest Poker software:
Hold your mouse over the avatars for a few seconds to see player profiles popup.
Mouse-over your Pocket Cards to see your best holdem poker hand rank at the moment (it may change as more community cards are dealt to the board).
Mouse-over most control buttons to see tips pop-up to explain their function in holdem poker play. Action buttons typically don't have pop-up tips because they would be distracting during play.
The Chat window carries Dealer chat which describes what happens at each step. Reading it as you play can be instructive.
To see what happened at the end of the last poker hand, look in the upper right at the Previous Hand window. Click on the window to bring up the poker Statistics table showing information on your play during this table session. Click on the Statistics table to bring up the previous poker Hand summary again.
The Hand Ranks button will pop-up a list of all the possible Texas Holdem Poker Hand values ranked from highest to lowest. (VIEW BELOW)
If you run out of poker chips, you can always leave the Texas Holdem Poker Online Training Room and start over again. Use it as often as you like. When you are familiar with the Texas Holdem Poker game controls and comfortable with the flow of play, go back to the Lobby and select an active poker table to take on other poker players for the real thrill of this game.

Joining the Game
Take A Seat
To start playing online holdem poker, click on any open seat. That seat will be reserved for you while you decide how many chips to bring to the table.
Bring chips to the table.
A box will appear showing the minimum and maximum buy-in for the selected holdem poker table. Each option has a self-help description - just hover your mouse over any button for a few seconds to see it pop up. Choose how many chips you want to bring to the table and click OK.
The box will close and you will be seated in the chair you selected. The table view will rotate so your chair will be in the foreground.
Wait to be dealt in.
When you are seated at the table with at least the minimum amount of chips, you may have to wait a minute or two for a holdem poker hand in progress to complete or you may have to wait for the Big Blind to come around to your seat position before you can participate in a new hand of holdem poker play.
Depending on when you attempt to join a holdem poker game in progress, you may be permitted to post an early blind bet (that is, to make a bet before it is your turn to post the Big or Small Blind) in order to join the game without waiting for the Blinds to come around to your seat position.
The Game Window
When you select a table from the Lobby, a game window will open showing the holdem poker table and players (if any) seated around it. You can watch the game as an observer or, if there are open seats, you can sit down and play Texas holdem poker.
The
game window has four main sections:

2 Results Panel
3 Chat Window
4 Control Panel
The Game Table is where the holdem poker action takes place.
* There will be between two and ten seats at a holdem poker table, depending on table size.
* Green chairs are occupied by players.
* Red chairs are open seats at the holdem poker table.
* When a green chair turns gold, it is that player's turn to act in the holdem poker round.
A new hand of online holdem poker will start whenever at least a minimum number of players are sitting in. If a hand doesn't start even though there are enough players seated, make sure nobody is marked as "sitting out." If someone has a red Sit Out disc on the table in front of their seat, use the chat window to ask that player to click "Sit In" on the control panel so the next hand can begin.

The Game Window
Poker Statistics and Poker Hand History Windows
The Everest Poker software includes a pair of windows that offers players poker statistics and poker hand history at the click of a button. This information can assist you in the learning process, helping you better play the game by giving you an understanding of how you've played in the past. To open either window, click on the Statistics or History buttons, located in the upper right corner of the Everest Poker software.
The Poker Statistics window in the Everest Poker software offers you numbers and percentages related to your play at Everest Poker. This includes the number of hands that you've played, the point to which each hand was reached before you folded, as well as how often you lost or won, and the percentage of times that you've checked, raised, or bet during your games. Many players find that spending time observing their poker statistics as they play gives them a better idea of when to call, raise, check, or fold during a poker hand in later games. Poker statistics can help you determine your strengths and weaknesses during a game. Many players will review their poker statistics every few games just to ensure they're playing their best. As you continue to play with Everest Poker, more data will allow you to better analyze your poker game.
The software also features a window that offers a detailed description of the previous poker hand. This is provided to allow beginning poker players to better understand how the game is played. More advanced poker players also use the poker hand description to learn how their opponents play more easily and compare that to the poker statistics they have gathered. Careful observation of this information allows players to determine when their competition is bluffing and learn their poker playing style. To see details for previous hands, use the reverse buttons at the top of the hand to navigate through the records for each hand. You may also save your game's hand history as a text file for your records at any time by clicking on the Save As Text button.
Learning to read and use the poker results and poker statistics panel has helped many players perform better at Everest Poker. Spend some time in our training room, observing how these numbers change and what they mean to get a better idea of how you should play.
The Chat Window is in the lower right corner of the Game Window. It allows you to communicate with other holdem poker players and to read the Dealer's short description of each action during a hand.
The Chat Window has three parts: the Chat Display, a Text Entry Box and Chat Options.
The Chat Display contains all of the chat messages which you enable through the Chat Options. These include messages from the Dealer describing the play action in our holdem poker game.
To enter your own Chat messages, click in the Text Entry Box and start typing, then hit Enter on your keyboard to send the message. Keep in mind that some of our holdem poker players turn off Player Chat, so they may not see your message.
To customize Chat to your liking, click on the Chat Options tab at the top of the Chat Window. The Chat Options control panel will slide down to allow you to turn on or turn off these holdem poker options:
* Dealer text (descriptions of holdem poker game play)
* Chat from other players
* Chat from observers (people watching the game but not seated at the table)
Simply click on an option to turn it on or off. A green indicator light means the option is ON, red means it is OFF.
You can also increase or decrease the font size for the Chat Display to either see more information or make it easier to read.
To close the options panel and view the full Chat Display, click on the Chat Options tab again. The panel will slide up. If you are a registered player with Everest Poker, the Chat Options are "sticky", meaning we will remember your choices and configure all chat windows accordingly until you change the options again.

The
Control Panel is where you interact with the holdem poker game. There are three types of buttons appearing on the control panel: Utility, Play, and State.
Utility buttons are coloured brown and most appear on the left side of the control panel. Hover your mouse cursor over them for more information.
Play buttons
appear in the central area of the control panel only when your seat position is involved in a hand of holdem poker play.
State buttons are dark green and have indicator lights to show their state (Green = ON, Red = OFF). They appear in the lower right of the control panel.
Play buttons come in three varieties: Pre-Deal, Pre-Action and Action. With Play buttons, you have a limited amount of time to select which button to engage. This ensures that our holdem poker games move quickly for players.
Pre-Deal buttons are tan coloured and appear before the deal of a new holdem poker hand if you are obligated to post a blind in order to participate in the next hand. The Pre-Deal buttons are Post Blind, Don't Post Blind and Wait for Big Blind. The Post Blind button shows the amount you must post as a blind bet. If you set the state of the Auto Post Blind button to ON, you won't see these Pre-Deal buttons since your blinds will be automatically posted for you.
Pre-Action buttons are dark red and have indicator lights to show their state (Green = ON, Red = OFF). Only one Pre-Action button can be on, but you may leave them all off. The Pre-Action buttons appear before it is your turn in case you already know what you will do when your turn comes. This speeds up the holdem poker game and gives your opponents less time to think about their next move.
Action buttons are coloured bright green and appear when it is your turn to take action in any round of betting in a holdem poker game. The Call and Raise buttons show the amount required to take those actions. Bet buttons usually show the minimum bet. Depending on the circumstances of holdem poker play, not every Action button will appear during your turn. Only those actions which you may take according to the rules will be presented to you. Note that if you are permitted to Check (that is, to stay in the hand without risking any additional chips) in a holdem poker game, we do not present the Fold button since it would be unwise to fold (throw away your hand) if you can stay in the round and potentially win without risking any more chips from your stack.
